Colors

The Pass Christian Garden Club is having a special meeting on Thursday Oct 15th around 10am. We will be presenting the colors at the Pass Christian Yacht Club. I know this is a school day. Connor has said he would do it and I am hoping Jack can too since they are taught at home.

Raeline please let me know if Jack is interested. We will have to get him his uniform and we can practice over the weekend. We will use the City's flag.

Jourdan and Lee you will do the next one, we will make sure it is a Saturday or Sunday!

Coast cleanup

Please note that with football we "wolves" are not participating in the Coastal Cleanup on the 17th. There is information on the web site. Please check it out and go if you would like.

We are giving back to the park in our own special way. We are going to have our own garden and work on landscaping one of the city's signs with the Pass Christian Garden Club....This will help us with our ecology and we will work on some horticulture and be a great asset to our community. I am waiting on a Saturday after football games to do this with the garden club ladies.

STAY TUNED IN FOR FUN!!!!!

Popcorn

Popcorn...okay so fundraising to me is a huge pain so I am sure you feel the same way! I myself am continually begging for the library, the park, the City and now the Scouts.

I know we need the funds so I will buck up and try to sell the stuff........ I have forms for you all.

Like we say" Do you best". I will continue to try and find sponsors to help us do our projects so that we can defray some of our expenses.

Camping....

The cub scouts are going camping in November at Camp Tiak. We have been asked to participate. I was hoping we could do a practice run on our farm on Clarence Avenue. Send me your thoughts?
John and I have tents...we could do a bonfire and cook out and learn about camping before we head to Camp Tiak.... Cheers, Renee

Please watch the blog it is updated daily for upcoming events....feel free to leave me a comment...I can get them on my cell phone. Or you can email me at coastmum@aol.com.

BOBCAT BADGES!!!!!

Bobcat Requirements

The first rank that EVERY boy MUST earn when entering the Cub Scouting Program is the Bobcat rank.

To earn the Bobcat rank the new Cub Scout must do the following:

  1. Learn and say the CUB SCOUT PROMISE and complete the Honesty Character Connection.
    1. Know: Discuss these questions with your family. What is a promise? What does it mean to "keep your word?" What does honesty mean? What does it mean to "do your best?"
    2. Commit: Discuss these questions with your family. Why is a promise important? Why is it important for people to trust you when you give your word? When might it be difficult to keep your word? List examples.
    3. Practice: Discuss with family members why it is important to be trustworthy and honest and how can you do your best to be honest when you are doing the activities in Cub Scouting.

"I .....(name).... promise to do my best
To do my duty to God and my country,
    To help other people, and
To obey the Law of the Pack. "

  2. Say the LAW OF THE PACK. Tell what it means.

    "The Cub Scout follows Akela.
The Cub Scout helps the pack go.
The pack helps the Cub Scout Grow.
    The Cub Scout gives goodwill."

  3. Tell what WEBELOS means

    "WE'll BE LOyal Scouts "

  4. Show the CUB SCOUT SIGN. Tell what it means.
[Webelos: Make the CUB SCOUT SIGN. Tell what it means.]
  5. Show the CUB SCOUT HANDSHAKE. Tell what it means.
  6. Say the CUB SCOUT MOTTO. A motto is a guiding principle.

    "Do Your Best"

  7. Give the CUB SCOUT SALUTE. Tell what it means.
  8. With your parent or guardian, complete the exercises in the booklet,
How to Protect Your Children from Child Abuse.
[Tiger Cub: With your adult partner, complete "A Bobcat Requirement" in front of the Contents pages of this handbook.]
[Webelos: With your parent or guardian, complete the Bobcat Requirements section of"How to Protect Your Children from Child Abuse: A Parent's Guide"). (The guide is a pull-out section that came in the front of this book.)]

The above items are the basic information that ALL Cub Scouts must learn, which is why EVERY boy who enters into Cub Scouting MUST earn the Bobcat Badge.

This is a way for you and the guys to keep up with our schedules!
